During a limited meeting and a luncheon with the Cabinet members, Meutya highlighted the government’s efforts to finalize the regulation, which is expected to address concerns raised by the public.

“Hopefully, soon President Prabowo himself will announce it to the public. The principle is that based on the tremendous input from the public, the government is currently working on regulations related to child protection in the digital space,” Meutya said in a press statement at the Presidential Palace.

Collaborative Efforts for the Digital Child Protection Regulation

Meutya explained that her ministry, in collaboration with electronic system organizers, has gathered feedback from various stakeholders to ensure the regulation is comprehensive and effective. This regulation will specifically target the increasing prevalence of child pornography and the rising concerns about online gambling and its harmful effects on children.

“We have certainly received a lot of feedback. Right now, the regulation is in the final stages of development. President Prabowo will announce it to the public when it is ready,” she added.

Presidential Tradition and Coordination Among Cabinet Members

In addition to the announcement on child protection regulations, the meeting at the Presidential Palace also marked the first of what will become a new tradition under President Prabowo’s leadership. The event included a limited meeting and a lunch with the Cabinet members, aimed at fostering better coordination and communication within the government.

According to Meutya, this initiative is part of President Prabowo’s efforts to improve collaboration among ministers in a more relaxed but productive environment. She noted that this new tradition would continue, with the President emphasizing its importance for fostering coordination.

“This is the first time for such an event, and according to President Prabowo, it will become a tradition for the ministers to have lunch together and discuss matters in a relaxed yet productive setting,” Meutya said.

As President Prabowo Subianto prepares to announce the regulation on child protection in the digital space, the government is taking a proactive step toward safeguarding the younger generation from the dangers of the digital world.
